I4C and Gobi Partners Bring Climate Investors Together in Manila

December 9, 2025

The Philippines has a promising climate-tech landscape, yet few events focus on the sector. Investors for Climate (I4C) and Carlo Chen-Delantar, Partner and Head of ESG and Circular Economy at Gobi Partners, aim to change that by creating more intimate networking sessions for investors and key stakeholders. I4C is a close-knit community of more than 400 investors across over 40 countries whose members have invested more than US$50 billion (in various currencies) in climate and sustainability.

I4C launched in Manila on 25 November 2025, marking Carlo’s first event as the organisation’s Manila ambassador. His interest in climate tech is personal. In an article for Tech in Asia, he described how his family took shelter as Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) swept through the Visayas and left 6,300 people dead. His experience reflects the country’s vulnerability to climate-related disasters. The 2024 World Risk Index ranks the Philippines first globally for disaster exposure and vulnerability, reinforcing the need to build a strong climate-investment community.

Gobi Partners co-hosted the evening alongside Sustina, a non-profit media and strategy organisation focused on democratising sustainability intelligence.

The Manila session created a rare platform for discussions on strengthening the country’s emerging climate-tech ecosystem. Attendees included government representatives, non-profit organisations, and climate investors, each bringing different perspectives to a shared objective: strengthening local climate resilience.

The gathering produced clear action points. Investors expressed interest in supporting more climate-tech ventures in the Philippines, enabling more Filipino founders to enter the sector, and expanding private-public partnerships to accelerate adoption and scale.

The event signalled the start of deeper collaboration between I4C and Gobi. Both organisations plan to convene more sessions to bring stakeholders together and help develop a sustainable climate-tech industry in the Philippines. By strengthening networks and mobilising capital, Gobi aims to back climate-tech solutions that enhance national resilience and create global impact.
